Who am I? Well, I'm your not so typical, mostly stay at home mother of 4 sons. Yes... I have 4 children and they are all boys. I still wander out to the hospital once or twice a month to work a shift as a Registered Nurse but it has been many years since I have been a career mom.
Sometime around 4 years ago, we bought our oldest son a pet hermit crab for his birthday. Of course, mom hit the internet to start researching. To make a long story short, mom became a little obsessive over the hermit crabs, (now has a 70g tank) and eventually started to get interested in other not so ordinary pets. My first reptile pet was a crested gecko, and that remains one of my favorites.
At the time of this writing my collection of animals includes: 3 African fat tailed geckos, 6 crested geckos, 2 bearded dragons, 1 chameleon, 1 tarantula, 1 red eyed tree frog, 1 White's dumpy tree frog, 1 green tree frog, 2 white lipped tree frogs 1 box turtle and 1 blue tongue skink.
The idea of taking my pets to birthday parties has been in the back of my mind for sometime now. There are some very successful businesses doing reptile presentations. I was very nervous when my friend asked me to do a presentation for her grade 5 class, but I handled it well and it was a HUGE success! The kids LOVED it! For me it was so thrilling to share something I love with people who are interested. There are actually people out there who WANT to see these animals and learn more about them. They are the kids! So, after only a few days of thinking I started the process of making this a business.
