"I loved it!  It was the beever had.st party I   I really enjoyed the lizards and how Laura explained what they were and what they did.  I think other kids would like it more than me because I'm her neighbor and I see her lizards every day.  I would have this birthday party again!"  -Bailey Lines

Dear Leapin' Lizards,

As an educator, I'm always looking for ways to enhance my educational program that will be meaningful to kids. While reading the novel, Holes, it occurred to me that the frequent reference to lizards could be incorporated into my program with some hands-on learning. I immediately thought of Laura and her vast knowledge and collection of reptiles. Laura was quick to respond with an enthusiastic, YES, & visited my classroom within a week. The students LOVED the opportunity to interact with the lizards, watching the live-cricket and meal worm feeding process, viewing their habitats, and listening to Laura's "lizard facts". Groups of students were able to view and study the variety of lizards up close, with smaller tanks placed directly on their desks. This allowed for an extended observation time, as well as quiet, focused discussion within their peer groups. Laura patiently answered questions (& there were many) and was able to offer extension activities that we could integrate into our program after she left. The study of reptiles conveniently fits into our Ontario curriculum, particularly with life cycles in our Science program.

Laura is knowledgeable, approachable & friendly with an obvious passion for her lizards - & the kids who are instantly drawn to them. Her program was thorough, interactive & highly engaging for a classroom full of Grade 5 students. I would highly recommend Leapin' Lizards for an educational opportunity for students of all ages.
