LEAPIN' LIZARDS BIRTHDAY PARTIES
What happens when you have us for a birthday party?!
We will take about 10 minutes to set up Some of the animals can't go too long without extra heat so I will need access to an electrical outlet. I will bring my own extension cord and power bar.
We will talk a little bit about reptiles in general and then one by one I will take the animals out to show the kids. I will talk a little bit about each animal including age appropriate information, such as where they would live in the wild, what they eat etc... Some of the animals can be held by the children if they wish. Sometimes the kids just want to touch and feel. The gecko's sticky toes, the spikes on the beardy etc...
I always ask at the start if there is anyone that is afraid or nervous. My goal is not to freak out the kids but to introduce them to something new and to educate them in a fun way.
Of course the children will have plenty of opportunity to ask questions. Hopefully I know all the answers! ;)
We will try to do a feeding demonstration with one or two of the animals. Sometimes due to nerves or stress they will not eat for an audience.
When the kids have had their fill and you're ready to move the party on, I will pack up, make sure I have all my critters and be on my way. I will leave a few reptile coloring pages for the kids.
