MY ANIMAL FAMILY
BLUE TONGUE SKINK
Zeke is a blue tongue skink. Approximately 6 months old in this photo. He joined our family on March 25. He is settling in nicely and I'm sure will be ready to come out to parties very soon.
Box Turtle
Salus joined the LEAPIN' LIZARDS family on January 18, 2011. She is approximately 3 yrs old. She is a box turtle of either the Gulf Coast, or Three Toed species. Salus has settled in well now and is eating regularily. She is now ready to start coming to parties with me! The word Salus is Latin for, health, safety, well being, salvation.
VEILED CHAMELEON
Here's me, Laura. All these creatures are my babies, and they are all special to me. I am holding Hunter here. He is a VEILED CHAMELEON. He is almost two years old. Although I have read many times that chameleons can be mean and nasty, Hunter, however, is as gentle as can be. I have held him since he was a baby, and he usually comes right out of his cage to see me. He has never given me a mean look or threatened to bite.
BEARDED DRAGONS
Here are Fozzie and Gonzo. They are 2 yr old BEARDED DRAGONS. They were the runts of their clutch of eggs and are a little smaller than most full grown bearded dragons. I was told when I got them that they were brothers. OOOPS! I should have investigated myself because now I have 14 babies! We sometimes call Fozzie, Fozzette now.
FAT TAILED GECKOS
These are two AFRICAN FAT TAILED GECKOS. I'm not always good with naming all my geckos but am trying to come up with names for this pair. Perhaps some kids will be able to help me. Both of these will make an appearance at parties. I have one other but she has not always eaten well and been healthy so she will stay at home unstressed. These two have been with me for over two years. I'm not sure how hold they are because they came to me as adults.
CRESTED GECKO
This is one of my NEW CALEDONIA CRESTED GECKOS. I currently have 3 sub adults. I have suffered great losses this year of 3 females and a male. I will be looking for more as this is the one species I do want to breed. As with the other geckos, these guys don't have names. We'll have to work on that.
ROSE HAIR TARANTULA
Any one get the shivers looking at this one? Ambrosia is my 3 yr old ROSE HAIRED TARANTULA. She has been with me for about a year now, and has just had her fist molt since joining my family. She will come to parties with me, but don't worry, if you prefer, she can stay in her travel home.
RED EYED TREE FROG
Here is Raymond (pronounced with a French accent). Raymond is a RED EYED TREE FROG who I think is absolutely gorgeous! Unfortunately Raymond will not be going to shows with me as this species is a little more fragile and easily stressed. So he will stay at home. I do hope to have another tree frog or two in the near future to bring with me.
WHITE'S TREE FROG
Here is the latest addition to my family. A WHITE'S DUMPY TREE FROG. I think he's confused though because he keeps burrowing under his water dish. I do see him up in the branches at night if I'm up really late
PETRII GECKO
I recently purchased 3 of these little PETRII GECKOS. They are a small gecko so I can keep 3 in a small 10g tank! They are nicknamed the frog-eyed gecko.
